Apolo Oh Yeah

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Okay, I know my boy won but I haven’t seen the show yet. I can’t wait to get home this evening and park myself in my chair to oohh and ahh at the TV.

I wanted to share with you all my favorite of his dances, the Paso Doble. His was my favorite Paso of all time! Enjoy.

Not Gonna Make It

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

The Dancing With the Stars big finale is tonight and I have really been looking forward to it but…Houston, we have a problem. The finale is two hours long and doesn’t even start until 9:00. I am so tired that I am just about dead on my feet. This night is exactly the reason TiVo was invented. I’ll watch it at my leisure tomorrow evening. I have to go to bed. I’m beat.

Go Apolo!! I’m pulling for you!!

OK

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Here’s what I say. Act like it matters now… :D Even though Joey and Kym got one of my votes for that amazing freestyle routine, this season’s champions will be Apolo & Julianne. At least I hope so. (shhhh, don’t tell Apolo but Joey’s “last dance” really was incredible)

And Still They Dance…

Monday, May 21st, 2007

The first dance is over and in my not so humble opinion…Apolo and Julianne blew them ALL away!!! Back to the TV.

Whew!

I was skeered! Do you hear me? Skeered! I don’t even think I was breathing. Thankfully it was Ian and his alien vein that got voted off last night and not Apolo…but the tension was palpable.

Wow…that was truly a stressful elimination round. Did you see Joey’s face when he was saved right off the bat? I thought he wet his pants, he was so relieved… :D

I do think this has been the most competitive season yet and next week is going to be even more amazing. It’s anybody’s game. Bring it it on!

Not a Clue

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

So, who is going to get voted off Dancing With the Stars tonight? I. Have. No. Idea. Good Lord. Did you see the show last night? How awesome was that? Ian even kept his alien vein under control. I was much impressed by that little feat all by itself. Do tell me though, why would Ian wait until the final four to decide he just might know how to dance after all?

Obviously, someone in power must have had a chat with our crusty judges because they played very nicely together last night. It was about time we saw some respectability from them. By the way, Len still moves pretty well for an old geezer, doesn’t he?

Now then, who ends up in the bottom two? Who gets booted? Who got my five on-line votes? Apolo & Laila. Yeah!!!!!

Good Gracious, That Scared Me

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

I am so happy that Billy Ray was finally voted off last night. Nothing against him…he really is a southern gentleman and he gave it his all but it was truly time for him to go. I have to say though, I was absolutely on pins and needles waiting for them to announce who was leaving and scared to death that it was going to be Joey. Stranger things have happened! Joey looked like he wasn’t even breathing himself. What a scary moment that was. I was so shocked to see him standing in the bottom two instead of Ian. What was that about? Whew!

Speaking of alien vein Ian…what was up with him grabbing Apolo by the neck? That seemed a bit rough to me…not at all playful. Apolo even looked a little taken aback himself. If Ian had grabbed Laila like that she would have laid him out like a rug! Hopefully, Ian will be the next to go and then we can get down to the real competition. Keeping my fingers crossed here.

You Should Be Dancin’….Yeah!

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

Good Gracious! Apolo was on fire last night! I enjoyed his Paso Doble so much I was hootin’ and hollerin’ right at my TV. Good thing my neighbors couldn’t hear me. At least I hope they couldn’t. I think that was just about my favorite Paso of all time, bar none. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I thought his Tango was mighty fine too.

Laila was also right up there once again. Her tribute to her father was an absolute tear jerker. I was smiling so big I think I pulled a muscle in my face. She is a gorgeous dancer.

Joey’s first dance was a bit boring to me. I agree that it was technically sound but that’s about all it was. His second dance was better but he still isn’t one of my favorites. Probably just a personality thing on my part really. He is quite talented obviously.

Ian’s alien vein was back again last night. I thought he was going to go postal on the judges after they shot him down over his first dance. It was most apparent that he was very, VERY angry. I thought the judges were going to need an armed escort home. To be honest though, Ian really isn’t all that good…certainly not good enough for the final.

Billy Ray, Billy Ray, Billy Ray…while it probably wasn’t politically correct for Bruno to label your dancing as “crap”, your dancing was…well, it was crap. You honestly have no business still being on the show and I think you know it. The only reason you are still here is because your fans are voting to keep you here out of love for you and your music. Do yourself and all of us a favor…tell them to let you go.

As for the judges, I think Len must be in the early stages of Alzheimer’s. His judging oftentimes makes no sense. His comments about Apolo’s Tango lacking passion for instance…what was that about? That Tango was absolutely oooooozing passion. It almost seems like he disagrees with Carrie Ann and Bruno just to disagree. I don’t know but I am tired of their CONSTANT bickering. It just isn’t funny anymore. Maybe it is time for a change.

So, the final three will be Apolo, Joey, and Laila. I think that much is obvious. As for the final two? Too close to call yet.

Wiggling with the Twinklers

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Dancing With The Stars last night was great! In my book, the front-runner is still Laila Ali. She was amazing! I’d like to see her take the whole thing.

Apolo seemed a little off to me last night. Don’t get me wrong, he was still good but he seemed to have gotten lost a time or two. I do enjoy watching him though. He is extremely entertaining and comes off as a really pleasant kind of guy.

What was the deal with that jumbo alien vein sticking out of the middle of Ian’s forehead? Good Lord, he looked like an extra on Star Trek, The Next Generation. I know the dude really tries but his posture is awful and I think he truly has no idea. He thinks he is turning in stellar performances…yeah, not so much.

I actually enjoyed John’s first dance very much. It seemed to fit him perfectly and he did a really nice job. The second dance fell way, WAY short for me. At least the judges weren’t so harsh with him this week. {By the way, did any of you think Len and Bruno were going to come to blows before it was over last night? Wow.}

Joey is really good but Joey really gets on my nerves too. That’s just a personal take, I know, but I wonder if that very type of thought might be what gives Laila the edge over him when push comes to shove. Sophistication and class versus the class clown.

Billy Ray Swamp Bear…poor little fella…it is time for him to go about his merry way. With the competition that is left, he is just so far below their capabilities that it is almost sad. No, it is sad, very sad.

So I think Billy Ray should get voted off tonight but I fear that his fan base will save him and John will find the door. Could go either way. Obviously, neither of these fellas is going to be around much longer so it’s really just a question of which one gets voted off first.

Laugh It Up

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Margaret Cho was in concert on TV last night. I went to bed way late. Why? Because Margaret Cho was in concert on TV last night. That woman is so laugh out loud funny…so I did…laugh out loud.

The only thing I have to take umbrage at is the completely unnecessary foul language. Woman, you are hilarious…the smut mouth? Not so much. Still, thanks for the humor workout.

Want to have a great day and feel good doing it? Laugh it up!
