Terry Jones, the so-called reverend in Florida who is currently holding the Koran hostage, is by all accounts an absolute moron…and a dangerous one at that. Supposedly a “man of the cloth”, he is dangling the holy book of another religion over the flames of his own righteousness and demanding a ransom of conformity to his way of thinking with no care or thought whatsoever to the worldwide consequences or effects. Mr. Jones, come down off your soapbox pulpit…your fifteen minutes of fame have passed and you are now going down in history on the side of “infamy”. I don’t think that was what you were really aiming for was it?

Mea Culpa

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Mea culpa… “My bad”… “My fault”… “I screwed up” …however you want to say it, it needs to be said but, for some reason, it isn’t…being said that is…at least not often enough. Instead what we get is something more along the lines of, “Well, I didn’t know”, or “That’s how everybody else does it”, or even “It’s not my fault, I was only doing what I was taught” or “I had such a terrible childhood”. Really? Aww, poor little fella. All’s forgiven then.

Not so much.

You know what? Everybody screws up. Everybody. That’s one club we are all card carrying members of, without a doubt. Taking responsibility for our screw-ups however is a completely different animal. It’s easy to screw up. Just get out of bed today and you will screw up sooner or later. I guarantee it. The hard part…the part that takes chutzpah, nerve, guts even, is to fall on your sword and admit it when the fault is yours. That, my friend, is integrity walking.

This is Why

Monday, August 17th, 2009

I miss my blog. I really do. So I’ve decided to come back and tell you guys why I’ve been a bit elusive as of late. You see, I have a problem…a bunny killer if you will. Yep. “Stalker Time” folks.

The Bone has a crazed lurker who can’t seem to figure out how to take “No” for an answer and skulks around this blog, my blog, reading the posts and transforming them into words of encouragement, no matter the topic. What to do? Hence my dilemma.

I get phone calls, text messages, e-mails, even had a unwanted, uncalled for, face-to-face encounter in my driveway as I was loading my truck preparing to leave for vacation. Great way to start off, huh? Well, heeding very wise advice from my sister, I’ve decided not to let this non-entity take my power any longer. In other words, The Bone is back!

I will blog when and what I want to blog and I don’t care what the bunny killer thinks. As a matter of fact, I will document everything from now on for the legal action I am about two minutes away from taking. So, bear with me please. I’ve had to change all the locks on my house to get my sense of security back there and even passwords on my computer (oh yes, got hacked but that was reported straight away) however, I refuse to give up my serenity…not now, not ever.

I know who I am and I know who’s I am. So, hang on folks, we’ve got some Bone Collecting to do!!

“No weapon formed against me will prosper” (Isaiah 54:17)

Hi, My Name is Deb

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

It has happened. As much as I never thought it could…it has…I am addicted. Extremely so. To what, you might ask? Well, lean in a little closer. I don’t want to say this too loudly. It’s a bit embarrassing you know….

I. Love. It. I mean I am eat up with it. Truly. I have a farm in Farmville, a pad in Yoville, I throw food, sling pillows, send hugs and smiles, play Bejeweled Blitz, Scramble, and Pathwords til all hours! Oh my goodness! I am ADDICTED and I LOVE it!

I tried that whole MySpace thing…yeah, not so much. MySpace is like Facebook on crack. Facebook is geared more for folks with a brain…or at least for folks who know how to use one.

Lots of my family are on Facebook and it’s fun keeping up with them this way. We even managed to get Mama on it. Now that was a feat, let me tell you. I’ll have to relate the whole Mama vs technology story to you sometime soon. It is most entertaining.

So, over there —-> on the side bar, at the top, you will see my Facebook badge thingy. If you click on that, you will be taken to the opportunity to request to be my friend on Facebook. Can’t make it an automatic thing. Sorry. You never know what might happen when you start doing things like that. :)

See ya on the farm!

It is Finished

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

A little before 9am this morning, my treasured Uncle Connie slipped away. He was so much to all of us…an Uncle, Great Uncle, Great-Great Uncle…a Brother, a Brother-in-Law…a Father, a Grandfather…a Nephew. But more than anything else, he was the other half of Connie & Sue and, without her, he was so very lost. Now the half is whole again and the bells are ringing in Heaven.
