You Won’t Know What Hit You

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

This game is ridiculously addictive. Here are the whatfors and wherehows…

The object of the game is to flood the whole board with one color in less than 25 steps. You start from the top left corner and progress by selecting one of the colored balls on the left. When you change your current area color, every adjacent square with the same color also changes, that way you can flood other areas on the board.

There is an option for a max mode (larger) on this page. Have fun, muhahahahaha

I’m serious though. Beware, you will lose all track of time!!

Hey Ya’ll

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Hello, Children of The Bone! Yes my lovelies, it is really me. I know it seems as if I had buried The Bone and forgotten where I put it but, rest assured, such is not the case. I meant to take only a short break which somehow became an extended hiatus. My apologies.

Still, I have returned…hopefully a bit refreshed and better able to handle my time management skills. Things at Smurf Village have been outrageously busy for my office with our new Papa Smurf on board and, by the time my chocked – full day is over, I am absolutely beat and not wanting to do much more than collapse on the couch and try to watch my soapies on TiVo (usually through closed eyes).

Don’t misunderstand me here now. Papa Smurf is wonderful and I love the things he is doing even if it does keep me and my Smurf suit hopping. All of this is a good thing and I will get you folks and the rest of my Bonecollecting into the swing of my new routine. Just bear with me, please.

Now, a lot has happened during our time apart and, I want to share, but obviously not all of it at once. So, I’ll be throwing stuff out here and there that I’ve been up to, seen, heard, or thought about. Check back…it should be interesting!

Hey There

Long time no see and all that…

Check out the view on my ride into work this morning…

Lovely, doncha think? Yeah, not so much. Between the fires burning in Carolina and the Dismal Swamp fire we are pretty much “Smolder City” around here anymore. Not a whole lot of fun for those of us with asthma and/or various and sundry allergies. Mama has even had to resort to the nebulizer.

I thought a little music might be appropriate for the moment… :D

With Hope

These are the lyrics to a song Steven Curtis Chapman wrote for close friends who were struggling with the death of a child. Hopefully these God inspired words will somehow, some way be a comfort to him and his family now.

For a Good “Paws”

Monday, April 21st, 2008

The Peninsula SPCA out towards my neck of the Earth suffered some hard times at the hands of some uncaring folks and they are trying their best to recoup. One of the ways they are doing that is by a fundraising effort dubbed Paws for a Cause.

My friend’s Mom is participating with her little yorkie, Andy. Check out her page and, if your heart is so moved, how about dropping a little change their way to help the little critters continue to be able to find good homes. I led the way with a donation in honor of my three rescued girls so jump on in and let’s help get them back on track!

Home Sweet Home

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

Mama is home and is doing just fine. She says she has “surgery pain” but that is to be expected. The other pain she was experiencing before the surgery is gone. Thank you Jesus. Now we heal.

Mama Update

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Hey Ya’ll…It’s nearly 11pm and I am finally home from the hospital. The surgery went very, very well but it started almost three hours late! Oh joy. The fun part? They neglected to tell us that it started nearly three hours late until we had already been waiting nearly three hours for what we thought was going to be an hour and a half surgery to be over. Yeah. We weren’t so happy about that part but we were way happy that the surgery was apparently a success.

The Doc said, if everything continues to go well, Mama should be able to go home tomorrow afternoon. That would be a good thing. I just left the hospital and they had only then rolled her past the waiting room from Recovery on her way to her room for the night. At least I got to lay eyes on her, kiss her sweet Mama head, and see for myself that she really is alright. In case you didn’t know it already, I love my Mama!

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers…please keep them coming.

Mama

Monday, January 28th, 2008

My Mama is having back surgery at 3:30 this afternoon at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to repair that worrisome prolapsed disc and get it off the nerve it has been aggravating for some months now. To say she is excited about it would be an understatement. Mama has been in near constant pain for so long now and to think that there is a light at the end of the tunnel is cause for celebration in her book.

I’ll let you all know how everything goes. Please keep her in your prayers. I’ll be at the hospital with Pops.
