Three Things to Think About

1. Cows

2. The Constitution

3. The Ten Commandments

Cows

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that our government can track a single cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of Washington ? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

The Constitution

They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don’t we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we’re not using it anymore.

Ten Commandments

The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this:

You cannot post “Thou Shalt Not Steal,” “Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery”, and “Thou Shall Not Lie” in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians. It creates a hostile work environment.

Wisdom…from My Friend, Kenny

THE TONGUE CAN BE YOUR WORST ENEMY!!!

Your words, your dreams, and your thoughts have power to create conditions in your life. What you speak about, you can bring about.

If you keep saying you can’t stand your job, you might lose your job.

If you keep saying you can’t stand your body, your body can become sick.

If you keep saying you can’t stand your car, your car could be stolen or just stop operating.

If you keep saying you’re broke, guess what? You’ll always be broke.

If you keep saying you can’t trust a man or trust a woman, you will always find someone in your life to hurt and betray you.

If you keep saying you can’t find a job, you will remain unemployed.

If you keep saying you can’t find someone to love you or believe in you, your very thoughts will attract more experiences to confirm your beliefs.

If you keep talking about a divorce or break up in a relationship, then you might end up with it.

Turn your thoughts and conversations around to be more positive and power packed with faith, hope, love and action. Don’t be afraid to believe that you can have what you want and deserve.

Watch your Thoughts – they become words.
Watch your words – they become actions.
Watch your actions – they become habits.
Watch your Habits – they become character.
Watch your Character – for it becomes your Destiny.

The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settle for.

Thought I would share this with you.

In the search for me, I discovered truth.
In the search for truth, I discovered love.
In the search for love, I discovered GOD.
And in God, I have found Everything.

Be Blessed

Watch how your circumstances and situations begin to change when you change the way you speak

A Lesson

Friday, October 5th, 2007

A terrible, awful, amazing thing happened today. There was a horrific accident on the interstate. A van lost control, flipped, went across several lanes of traffic ejecting the driver onto the roadway.

My friend wasn’t killed.

She broke three ribs and got a pretty bad bump on the head but she’ll go home to her husband and little boy tomorrow after spending tonight in the hospital. God is good. He is so very good.

Apparently, that is a lesson some people still need to learn. You see, what some folks took away from this occurrence this morning was that God allowed this to happen because this young lady simply isn’t as “Christian” as she should be. Oh yes. She needs to display more “Christian-like” behavior don’t cha’ know and not object to others being vocal about their own faith and praise. I. Kid. You. Not.

I. Am. Livid.

At this point my only question would be…What part of “It is finished” did you not understand? First of all, my friend, God did not allow this to happen. No. Accidents happen. They are a part of life…a part of our humanity and free will…a part of the craziness we live in everyday. Now, the part about her getting ejected from a vehicle that flipped across several lanes of traffic and not getting crushed by that vehicle or struck by another vehicle? That part? That was TOTALLY God. 100%. I guarantee it. The accident? Not so much.

Oh, and as for God smiting folks who “dis” you for being vocal about your faith? Nope, again. You see, God loves her just as much as he loves you and just as much as he loves me and just as much as he loves that smelly guy who stood behind you in line at the 7-11 last night. He doesn’t play favorites. It doesn’t matter which one of us plays the most Christian music or which one of us talks about him the most or which one of us goes to church the most or which one of us gave the most to the needy or whatever. It’s not a contest. It’s not a race. “It is finished.”

This wasn’t her lesson to learn. Get it?

Lullaby

Ever since watching The Story of The Lemonheads, I have NOT been able to get that haunting song out of my head. How beautiful!!

In case you don’t know, it is Josh Groban with LadySmith Black Mambazo and if it doesn’t stir something way, way, way deep down in your soul, I would dare to say you may be sadly lacking in the soul category.

I found this and wanted to share it. So, this is for everyone who has been hurting lately, but especially for Amy & the Boys, for Uncle Connie, Terry & Tracy, Brian & Amy, and the kids, Cousin Sayrah & the Beasleys, Mama & Pops, Judy Rae, Joy & Ginger & all the Parrishes, Aunt Christine, Georgia On My Mind, Martha & the Turlingtons, and all of us…way too many to mention so just count yourself in there and forgive me if I didn’t call you by name…

You All Matter to Me

Monday, October 1st, 2007

My best friend in all of this world is Georgia On My Mind. Her mother passed away this past Friday night. I ache for her. She was with her mother while she transcended from this world to the next. For that, I am so deeply and eternally grateful. I could not be with Georgia On My Mind in the flesh but I know she felt me with her in the spirit. We are never far apart…true Soul Sisters never are. I love her and I hope I never miss a chance to tell her.

There has been so much loss and sorrow in my little corner of the universe this year that it would almost be very easy to be swallowed up in the overwhelming misery and begin to feel as if a near drowning was about to occur. Instead, I think it might have taught me a most valuable lesson. Allow me a moment to share.

Grieve, for we must mourn those whom we have loved so dearly and whose presence will leave a hollow too vast to ever truly be filled, but be very careful to celebrate as well. Be very careful to honor and keep every single individual in your world who gives you cause to pause for even one moment of optimism and possibility.

If you love someone even one little bit, for any reason at all, tell them, show them, let them know…now, today, while you still can and they still can. Don’t ever let the opportunity to touch a moment in someone’s life pass you by.

Not ever.
