A terrible, awful, amazing thing happened today. There was a horrific accident on the interstate. A van lost control, flipped, went across several lanes of traffic ejecting the driver onto the roadway.
My friend wasn’t killed.
She broke three ribs and got a pretty bad bump on the head but she’ll go home to her husband and little boy tomorrow after spending tonight in the hospital. God is good. He is so very good.
Apparently, that is a lesson some people still need to learn. You see, what some folks took away from this occurrence this morning was that God allowed this to happen because this young lady simply isn’t as “Christian” as she should be. Oh yes. She needs to display more “Christian-like” behavior don’t cha’ know and not object to others being vocal about their own faith and praise. I. Kid. You. Not.
I. Am. Livid.
At this point my only question would be…What part of “It is finished” did you not understand? First of all, my friend, God did not allow this to happen. No. Accidents happen. They are a part of life…a part of our humanity and free will…a part of the craziness we live in everyday. Now, the part about her getting ejected from a vehicle that flipped across several lanes of traffic and not getting crushed by that vehicle or struck by another vehicle? That part? That was TOTALLY God. 100%. I guarantee it. The accident? Not so much.
Oh, and as for God smiting folks who “dis” you for being vocal about your faith? Nope, again. You see, God loves her just as much as he loves you and just as much as he loves me and just as much as he loves that smelly guy who stood behind you in line at the 7-11 last night. He doesn’t play favorites. It doesn’t matter which one of us plays the most Christian music or which one of us talks about him the most or which one of us goes to church the most or which one of us gave the most to the needy or whatever. It’s not a contest. It’s not a race. “It is finished.”
This wasn’t her lesson to learn. Get it?
